COVID-19/Corona Virus

March 16, 2020

After deep reflection and a bunch of reading, I am going to do my part to #FlattenTheCurve and cancel all of my appointments for this week. I do this because I care about you and the people you love, and because it seems like the responsible thing for me to do for our community at large. I have attached the articles I read that lead me to that decision, but it basically boils down to this: We can be infected and passing the disease with no symptoms of our own, and I am in close contact with you when you come in. What we do in this moment will make a huge difference for us in the coming months, and if we make sacrifices we can stop the worst of it.

I do this not because I am afraid but despite being afraid- my husband and I are self-employed and don’t have paid time off or sick leave to tap into. I would happily keep working to soothe my money fears but my affection for you wins out over those, as I would never want to harm you. (We do have some savings, and I suspect that the money we saved to pay self-employment taxes could be pressed into action if need be without undue penalty.)

I know that with what’s going on your bodies are probably feeling the strain. I do have one tool that can be used remotely, and though I have never done it over FaceTime or Skype I am willing to try if you are. Here’s a little info about it (https://bevinkeely.com/bodywork/movement/), please reach out if you are curious. I am offering remote sessions at a much reduced price to match my newness with the platform and the need for a bit of sweetness in these trying times.

I will be monitoring the situation just as you are, and will decide what to do about next week’s appointments when we get there, and I will be in touch.

In the meantime, my husband and son are looking forward to a massage or two (they NEVER get them, this will be so good!) and I am looking forward to some time in my garden. Please take good care.

With love,

Bevin
